Red and White
About
the Exhibition
Under the title red and white, the new accrochage marks the end of the successful year 2022 and carries us into the New Year 2023.
Not only in the names of many sports clubs, in country or state flags or in Christmas decorations does this color combination harmonize perfectly and make a lasting impression.
Red and white also vividly combine warmth and comfort with coolness and light. And they show a process of becoming and passing away: for example, in the red-hot log that, when cooled, leaves behind white ashes from which new things can emerge.
Red and white evoke associations of energetic pulsation and mysterious promise on the one hand, and innocence and openness on the other. This is precisely why they are so exciting as the motto of a compilation of artworks for the end of the year and the beginning of a new one. With works by 15 artists from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Spain, aspects of these different impressions are to be presented, whereby other colors may of course also be mixed in.
Look forward to works by Jordi Alcaraz, Joseph Beuys, Max Bill, Martha Jungwirth, Thomas Klingenstein, Alicja Kwade, Steffen Lenk, Benedikt Leonhardt, Anne Loch, Tanja Nittka, Ruth Maria Obrist, Felix Rehfeld, René Wirths.
