My Passion

Dr. Erika Schlessinger-Költzsch

hile driving through Provence I recognize pictures of Paul Cézanne and Vincent van Gogh in the pine-covered heights, the harvested fields and the sunlit places.

Crossing a square, I think of Alberto Giacometti’s “Walking figure”. Art shapes my perception of the world, it still amazes me like a child, its charisma and history move and touch me. It gives me the certainty of a never-ending source of energy that demands claims and at the same time promises security, both spiritually and materially.

Art is my elixir of life. It’s my end-to-end narrative.

rt also requires commitment – for life.To this end, it offers us the opportunity to live out inclinations, to exchange ideas with like-minded people and to invest wisely.

By acquiring a work of art or building up a collection, you can incorporate a piece of the world and combine enthusiasm with pride of ownership. Art nourishes self-confidence. It hits the soul and calls the intellect to the scene.

Art responds to curiosity, connects with the other, leaves traces and promises immortality.

Skills

Dr. Erika Schlessinger-Költzsch

bring art closer to you, open up access to it, be it through texts, speeches, presentations or through the sale of artefacts.

For many years I have managed international galleries and put together exhibitions. I taught art history in the museum and at the university and have been writing on art and publishing about art  since my studies. My network is based on the trust and passion of like-minded people in the instiutional as well as in the private sector.

Sharing my experiences, my knowledge and my curiosity is an incentive, a privilege and a joy for me.

Like you, I hope I never will lose the ability to wonder.

Portfolio Showroom

Dr. Erika Schlessinger-Költzsch

s an art scholar I am trained from the 17th to the 21st century, as art consultant and advisor I feel especially at home in the 20th and 21st century. My showroom should be open to all classical genres from all continents and offer a lively space for all arts to encounter each other.

In alternating accrochages, I show artists of classical modernism, post-1945 art and contemporaries, ideally united with music and literature in a vital dialogue under one theme.

In Brunnmattstrasse 2 in 5400 Baden AG the personal encounter and the sensual experience of art will be in the first place.

For me, art is the place where sensuality and intellect come together. To find, share and celebrate this place again and anew is the guiding principle of in.art.
